The perfect blend of upscale amenities and small-town charm is offered by Danville. Just 30 miles east of San Francisco, its quaint character and convenient location make it the perfect place to live, work, and play. The town, which was incorporated in 1982 and is located in Contra Costa County, consists of 18 square miles with a population of about 43,146. Danville is renowned for its small-town environment and its exceptional quality of life.

Bret Harte Park is ADA Accessible and has picnic tables, basketball courts, and playgrounds.

This is a very nice park, close to elementary school. Nice for extra parking, and waiting for the pick-up from school. It’s an easy way to save time during school holidays and not compete for spaces in the school lot. The park needs benches to sit on, because it’s basically just a parking lot, as it is. It’s little, but since it’s close to school, waiting for parents to let their smaller kids play while waiting to get the others out of school would be great.

It’s not a major park. When cars pass through, it is loud, and it is not very relaxing. It is well lit at night, however, and is a fairly secure place to park. The police don’t search too much, but you don’t want to leave your car overnight there. It’s perfect for activities close to the elementary school down the street.

It’s fairly well shielded from the main street, so it’s not too noisy in the park. Not much to be done. In order for people to really enjoy it, they can add some grills or picnic tables. There is nothing right now but more parking, which is typically reserved by elementary schools.

In order to describe this park, the potential is the word. At the moment, although not an amazing space, it has the potential to be a spot of beauty. For community outreach and local youth projects, this is a good park. A volunteer day would be a good way to clean up and restore this park. People could donate their time, and they could get a lovely little park in return!
