With the Las Trampas Ridge to the west and the Diablo Range to the east, Danville is located in a narrow portion of the San Ramon Valley. Over 167 acres of parkland is owned and managed by the Town of Danville, much of which is used for active recreation. One of the community parks in this town is Danville South Park.
It can be difficult to find this famous park. It is located just east of I-680, in the southern Danville neighborhoods. A small park with a lawn field, play structures, swings, and a small sand area is Danville South.
In the mornings, large trees surrounding the area leave it beautifully shaded. It is isolated by its entirely fenced exterior, preventing children from wandering off. The park features benches and a table for snacks or lunch.
At any time of the year, this park is perfect: it is protected in the winter and provides some shade in the summer. At this park, the bathrooms are portable.
Reservations for this park are not approved, first come, first serve picnic table use.
Lovely little park. A small playground with a very wide children’s field for running around in the grass. It has a basketball court tucked away as well as an outhouse.
For younger children, it’s a fun park. In this spot, you will love to chill or just sit on a bench and read your favorite book. Try to check it out and there’s a playground here that will certainly be enjoyed by your children.
It is a quaint, peaceful park with ball hoops, plenty of grass, and plenty of shade from beautiful redwood trees. A play area for kids.
This is a great place to stop with little kids for a little while as the playground is small. You can do nice sports, picnicking, or any limited kite flying green field. Not the same facilities as the bigger parks, but a nice park in the city.
Parks are part of the urban infrastructure: for physical exercise, meeting and socializing for families and neighborhoods, or for a simple respite. Research indicates that people who exercise in the green-space outdoors gain greater benefits from mental health.
A playground can include a park intended to provide recreation for children. Walking paths and decorative landscaping can be included in a park designed mainly for adults. To promote particular activities, special features, such as riding trails, may be included.
