A small skate park, swings, a climbing structure and a view of the Dougherty Valley are featured in the park. The term “Six Pillars” comes from a national education program for ethics adopted by the San Ramon Police Department called “Character Counts.” Each column in the park reflects one of the main character characteristics of the “Character Counts” initiative nationally. The six pillars of character shared by a coalition of communities, schools, non-profit organizations and public agencies are a premise based on core ethical values. To see the six pillars engraved with character characteristics, visit the park: trustworthiness, respect, accountability, justice, care, and citizenship.

• San Ramon Sports Park with Tiffany Roberts Field,  E Branch Pkwy, San Ramon, CA 94582, United States

Pleasant sports park near Diablo Valley College (DVC) San Ramon campus and a way from the nearest freeway out there. Named after Tiffany Roberts, an American women’s soccer player who played on the U.S. national team, she is an Olympic gold medalist and grew up living in San Ramon. The soccer field is made of synthetic turf and is also used for training and games for youth lacrosse. The park is friendly for dogs. They’ve got a baseball field and a basketball court as well. This sports park is fun, tidy, and very new in appearance. In the evening, it is extremely common, and is clean and well maintained. There is also plenty of lighting that makes for even more fun at night. Overall, if you don’t do a lot at night, or if you’re looking for a place to jog, a place to play basketball, soccer, baseball, or even volleyball, I’m going to come over here. And if you don’t have the supplies, there should be someone already here. Ask to be polite and you can join in and meet new people very easily.

Thi is a great place to be. It has a private, open parking lot with a good number of parking spaces. The dog park is close by. The trail that leads up to the mountains is the main attraction. A perfect place to sit back and enjoy San Ramon’s beautiful setting. Plus, you’ll see completely beautiful sunset/sunrise views. Have a path, not a path to wander and explore. It’s an awesome open space with a continuous five mile fire road/trail up and down the hills – miles of cow pasture open space. There are plenty of cows, coyotes, deer, birds of prey and even sightings of badgers! And, the burrowing owls are here – super cool! At the Tassajara Ridge parking area, there is a very fun dog park – dogs would enjoy running around and meeting up there with far larger dogs. What a cool spot in this neighborhood to have!

    In honour of the area’s rich immigrant past, the four-acre Limerick Park on Bethany Road is named. On a thorough placard at the park, you can read more about this history, but here’s a teaser: The San Ramon Valley was a common refuge for Irish immigrants escaping starvation westwards in the 1840’s. The settlers called “Limerick.” the village which would become San Ramon. While Limerick’s tale may be centuries old, the rest of the park is not. This relatively new park provides plenty of modern park facilities for visitors.

The 62,500-square-foot Dougherty Valley High School Aquatic Facility was constructed to serve the student body of the new high school as well as residents of the city of San Ramon’s rapidly expanding eastern side. This joint-use facility, worth $7.25 million, combines several design technologies and energy efficiency steps. It is a model of how an aquatic facility can respond in sensitive, ecologically conscious and cost-effective ways to a variety of needs. On the weekend, with two lifeguard towers, two diving boards, and an area for inflatable tubes and more recreation, the main pool facility had more than enough lanes for people there. There are a number of picnic tables on the side of the play area that are slightly shaded off and a little farther away from the main pool, which seemed like a nice place to relax.
