Living in Alamo Oaks

Residents of Alamo Oaks are blessed to live in an area full of nature while also being quite close to city life.  There is never a shortage of coffee shops, parks or shopping centers to enjoy within a five-minute drive of Alamo Oaks.

Residents are also able to enjoy a rich spiritual life at the following houses of worship:

1. St Timothy’s Episcopal Church | 1550 Diablo Rd, Danville, CA 94526

St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church may not be familiar to you, but chances are that the beautiful stained glass windows that adorn this building have been a part of your life for as long as you can remember. The windows were created by Louis Comfort Tiffany and his company at the turn of the twentieth century. Let’s take a closer look at these works of art from one of America’s most influential artists.

The architecture inside is absolutely stunning and reminds me of something out of a fairy tale. There are always people smiling and laughing as they walk around exploring this gorgeous building.

2. Creekside Community Church | 1350 Danville Blvd #1909, Alamo, CA 94507

The Creekside Community Church is a small church in a small town with a big heart for God. We are committed to sharing the love of Christ with our community and surrounding areas by hosting events, offering spiritual guidance, and ministering to those who need it most.

We have seen families grow and are grateful to call many of these families friends. This is why we wanted to share some exciting news with everyone. After much prayer and discussion with our leadership team, we have decided it’s time for us to build on our current location so that more people can be reached through ministry opportunities at Creekside Community Church.

3. Danville Presbyterian Church | 667 Diablo Rd, Danville, CA 94526

Danville Presbyterian Church is a family-centered church with intentionally no age segregation. We don’t have youth groups, single groups, or young marrieds, for example. Instead of these things, we have a Family Integrated Church in which all ages worship together and learn from one another. Furthermore, within the setting of the local church, the family and home serve as the primary locations for spiritual growth.

However, we recognize that some of our members are still in training and offer a separate area for parents with preschoolers on request. We feel it is critical for children to participate in worship services with their parents from first grade onward. This fosters family togetherness, provides a model for the youngsters, and establishes a pattern for adulthood.

We hope you’ll join us. If you can’t make it to church, please tune in on the live stream at danvillepresbyterianchurch.org/service.

They give book lovers an opportunity to get new reads for free.  The best part is, it’s all completely legal. Here’s a little backstory on how this genius idea came about: A man named Todd Bol built his own miniature library out of cedarwood and used old windows as doors in 2009 near Hudson, Wisconsin. He filled the shelves with books he had read and wanted others to enjoy. After seeing what Bol did, one woman decided she would take her love of reading even further by creating libraries where anyone could leave or take a book.
